I am still a bit skeptical on this whole PPC thing. I have not actually talked with anyone who has really gotten any real return from it. How do you know who to trust in the PPC world?

I think that other than asking others who have already used a PPC service, there is no real guarantee of getting anything out of it. there are lots of factors that influence your results.

I have found that my first key factor was geographic targeting, since it doesn't do any good to advertise all over the place for USA only services.
Second, are the keywords that you chose. At first, I wasn't aware they were so important.
Another thing was having a landing page that didn't look like a million other ones out there on the Web.
And i also prefer targeted groups, but they are more costly.

Yep, the more you begin to use the more costly it becomes. You can only get so much for free. Plus you eventually want to go for quality.
